Howdy.. Its me again...

Wow raid signups sucked 20 people each night?
And I am even doing the new nice Daf. So I dont know what to do... so as per some suggestions.

Raiding days will now only be 3 times a week.. (Wed/Thur/Sun)
Anyone who signs up for a raid and does not show will be subject to the following penalties:

1st no show - suspeneded from all loot for 1 week.
2nd no show - suspended from raiding for 2 weeks.
3rd no show - removed from the guild

All penalties will reset after a 2 month period of proper atendance.

All raiders are now subject to performance assesments -
At the end of the raid the raid leader will speak to those raiders whose performance was considered sub optimal. Those raiders will have 1 week to modify their performance before receiving a 1 week suspension from raiding. If after that suspension the issue has not been resolved they will be removed from the guild.

Guild Meetings will now be held every monday. Meetings are considered somewhat mandatory, if u cannot attend u will be required to read and sign the minutes on the web. Failure to do so will result in a one week suspension from raiding.

I will no longer seek to find subs or to hastle people to come to raids. I will start invites 15 min prior to raid start time. If I do not have a solid group of people who pst me for an invite I will cancel the raid.

Raiding is a privilige, if people want to run kara or do dailies all day then so be it but if we want to raid then we need to pay eachother the respect of being ontime and prepared.

I'll QQ a little if we ever have to cancel one of those raids, though. I'll do my bestest!

Not criticizing your rules, Daf, they seem fine and all, but they're really counter-active of the goal of getting more people to sign up. :/

If by counteractive you mean, counteractive to the people who will sign up and not show, then good.

Yeah, but the problem seems to be people just not signing up, not signing up and then not showing.

well erebus I dont know what else to do, I have people sign up and not show up all the time. Is that fair to those who do signup and make a commitment so we can progress? I am trying to gauge what peoples interest is so we dont have people show up and schedule their limited free time just to hear me say we arent going ot have it be a wipe fest cause we have a bad group of subs.

I think this is a great idea - less raiding days should mean better attendance on those days. This also allows members to use the other days to do dailies, farm for mats, PvP, other instances, etc. without burning them out. On the flip side, this puts more responsibility on the people who want to raid: you must show up ready and on time, with the correct spec and with the correct gear.

I get what you're saying Daf and these rules will certainly help with keeping people from signing up and then not showing, there's no doubt of that. However to get people to sign up to raids in the first place this wont really help (nor will it make things worse, though).

Personally, I'm a little burnt out on SSC. Fights like Lurker are still fun and mostly I show up to help out the raid by filling in a healer slot since 9 times out of 10 we are short a healer or two, but in general I'd like to go somewhere else. No this isn't a plea to MH or BT, don't worry tongue. Thankfully the problem of being burned out on SSC seems to be being fixed, somewhat. With the new "party raids", which count only as fun runs for the most part, with no dkp earned or spent and no stress of progression just the joy of raiding and hope of gear won on luck alone, I can get a bit more variety in my raiding time. So I do think, in time, we'll see a better raider turn out. I just didn't know that people signing up and then not showing up was a problem.

Daf, I think you shouldn't judge attendence based on a raid that is posted as "Party Raid".... I mean, I'm not going to commit myself to a raid, if I don't even know which raid we're talking about.

I agree with the signup/fail to signup stuff -- but try to give people as much info in advance as possible.

Oh and how about posting estimated end-times for raids? It would be nice to be able to plan things after -- if we have a set time that we stop (IE 11pm midnight whatever).

My only issue is that Mon. and Wed. nights I have standing plans with friends (DVD nights). It's not an issue re: Guild Meeting notes but I won't be able to make Wed. raids.

He's not judging it based on the party raid . I believe there weren't even 25 sign-ups for this weeks Wed (farm) and Thursday (progression) raids. Add in no-shows and you see why most of the time why we start late is because Daf is scrounging up people at 7:30.

So I just have one question about the rules, if you sign up but can't make it, and you say something about how you can't make it (like tell someone or post or something) do you still get a penalty?

All sounds fair enough. This may be just what i need to get back into some raids, 3 set days with set times and no mucking about is exactly what i needed. Half the problem i had was the fact i had to set aside time when i should be sleeping to hope that i would get into a raid which usually started half hour if not an hour after planned. Ive been guilty of a few no shows in the past and have lost dkp going by the old rules, and i fully agreed with it and thought it was fair that i lost the dkp.

Having tougher rules such as the no raiding for 2 weeks is a good way to build a committed raid team.

Just to bring another thing up, i noticed our "Vash team" had to pull in non guildies last week. A guild like ours should not have to drag in other people to fill spots for our toughest fight. If we cant get enough interest from actual guildies to down Vash then something is wrong and Daf has every reason to worry about the guilds raiding status.

Anyways heres hoping we can all make a good effort to stay focused on our raids. It would be a major shame to see stuff fall apart when we have some of the best raiders on the server.
